With a wide range of experience in production and engineering, Doug has helped many aspiring artists meet their goals. His record for 8 hours of continuous work on a 8 second vocal part, created the demo that he used to entice Jim Ed Norman into signing multi-Grammy Gospel/Jazz artists Take 6. He produced and signed the first folk artist for Windham Hill Records, Pierce Pettis. After co-producing BeBe Winan's with staff writer Brandon Barnes he signed R&B's multi-platinum Brian McKnight to Polygram. His vocal production and engineering help deliver Claire Lynch’s Bluegrass Grammy nominations. He has produced/engineered with a variety of other artists in studios throughout the country; Bonnie Raitt, Killer Mike, Anthony Hamilton, Willie Nelson, Lari White, Michael Hedges, Clifton Davis, Phil Collins, Kenny Rogers, etc.. Enlisted for talent development with Polygram Music Publishing, Doug has also produced music for several independent feature films, produced a series of audiobooks for DramaSound & Mercury Records, and has also been responsible for producing and engineering over 50 stand-up comedy records, including the first released work of Jeff Foxworthy. In years that followed, Doug began producing & writing with long time friend David Anderson, leading them to working with Yclef Records' recording artist Siri Stranger, and producing original music for HBO's "Treme". One of their DADS productions with Sound Celll recording artist, Lacey Atchison debuted in Disney's "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen." He has also placed music in popular documentaries including "Roots" & "Seabiscuit". He has engineered episodes for "The Amazing Race" & "The Secrets of Skinwalker Ranch". He produced and recorded the ERA's Moxie award winning music for "Infomercial of the Year". He has won personal awards in filmmaking as well as curiously, GLMS's "Outstanding Achievement in Medicine and Health" and HMCHA's "Restaurateur of the Year". His security clearance led him to recording rocket tests for the Redtone Arsenal as well as engineering sound for the F16 cockpit warning device "Bitchin' Betty". He has written songs performed by "The Harlem Boys Choir" and appeared as an artist on the Warner Brothers endorsed special release "Springer's Christmas".
